British Gas makes a compelling new offer to UK households eligible for a boiler upgrade
Two popular UK myths were exploded this week, one in close succession to the other. The first was that the weather it can get colder and the other was that British Gas could improve their already generous offer to match the government's new £400 boiler scrappage allowance announced last week. Ed Miliband had only just finished his dramatic announcement that 120,000 UK families would be eligible to receive this new grant, when British Gas came in with the follow up that they would be matching the government's offer with a further £400 in the form of a boiler scrappage discount.
For those UK citizens whose boilers are rated G level or lower, these two combined subsidies will cover around a third of the estimated cost of buying and installing a new boiler, and with estimates of around £250 annually in cost of buying gas, homeowners should recover the total cost of replacing the boiler in around seven years. A very good deal you might say? Well it just got a lot better!
British Gas has just added a further £452 in cost savings for those who will be replacing their boiler under the scheme which will come in two ways.
- A set of comprehensive radiator controls for the home or office valued at £248.
- Homecare 200 repairs cover for the boiler costing £204.
So if you have an old boiler which you feel may fall into the replaceable category then you shouldn't waste another moment to set the ball rolling to take advantage of the generous double offer. If you click on the link below you can make the necessary checks to see if you can participate in the scheme. In general if your boiler is more than 15 years old you should be eligible to receive the grants and subsidies. If you are not sure how to go about it, why not contact British Gas on 0845 074 5991 for a free consolation from one of their highly trained experts and advisors.
